Crane Flies
From the insect identifier...

These insects have one pair of membranous wings. Their hind wings are modified to form halteres. They have sucking mouthparts, usually forming a proboscis, that are sometimes adapted for piercing. Ouch! "
And of course, these are crane flies... And they have some really weird alias names as well. Beat these!
"daddy longlegs, mosquito hawks, mosquito eaters (or skeeter eaters), gallinippers, and jimmy spinners!"
From the names, you can tell they have really long slender legs!

And well now you know... you can call them daddy longlegs! and they are also called jenny longlegs in Scotland!
