Day 3 & 4 of KL Trip...
We visited the school of HARD KNOCKS at the royal selangor... basically a pewter factory... and after returning to singapore i realised that there's plenty of their stores here as well...
We paid about S$22 for a short session of their pewter craft hands-on there where we were clothed in a school of HARD KNOCKS apron and armed with a mallet, as well as other tools.

Another one at Putrajaya...

and Cockroach attack no. 3!!

Not knocking my fingers in the pic but on a flat pewter sheet that gradually took the shape of the hollow as you knock into it. HARD labour really!

And after a job well done, you get THIS! and with my mis-aligned and jumpy initials imprinted on... And placed in a store to sell for RM4455 thereafter. AMazing isn't it? ...

...and it also happened to be the price tag which the LOTR chess set is retailing at! Freak that's EX!
So after having our S$22 conned for a useless piece of pewter bowl we went to have a picture at the biggest BEER MUG made in PEWTER (recorded by Guinness). Hur.

There were many museums we went to. But this one on the islamic stuffs, some of us didn't and we loitered outside in their souvenir shop and the areas around it.
The beforemath of being CAUGHT...!
The climbing and scaling of the heights of the non-working fountain in the middle of the complex...

When i climbed all the way to the top and stood up, a security guard at the third level saw us! Oh DAMN!!
So i quickly scrambled down and posed for a picture with Luke...

Got reprimanded in malay which only yeevon could understand, and so we ended up playing spastic games at the benches there before it rained and had to scramble to shelter...
MEMORABLE! LOL!
MEMORABLE! LOL!

Following on we had a visit to an architect's personal working studio/home where much of his house is designed by himself... Pretty impressive esp considering how much time he obviously needed to spend on them... and how he basks in a personal self satisfaction and aura of self-glorification...
Perhaps his house is most unique from the very start... in welcoming visitors such as us or his clients through a black cage which he could easily direct them up to... walking up steps of concrete that seemingly float but are firmly secured by thick iron into the brick wall... up the cage which acted as support when opened and security to outsiders when closed which were absolutely practical purposes.

After a long but insightful talk by him, he brought us to another of his friend's place...
Another surprise entrance for us. This time the front of the house is presented as shown in the pics below...
They had this shelter of plants with incredibly long roots for the car which provided a good shade and at the same time facilitated privacy within by obscuring outsider's view into the house.

The house contained many exhibits and we spent quite awhile there taking pictures. The owner was away though.

A sculpture of complexity and detail, placed behind a scissors of commodity and simpleness. Deliberate?

A nice chain of insects that formed behind the table. Very nice...

The male's toilet... as depicted by a graffiti on the doors... The guy's shitting obviously...
And inside the toilet was a mirror facing the toilet and a portrait the person doing his business is forced to scrutinise daily. Freaky!

The following is quite unique i feel, where the pool by the entrance depicts 2 completely opposite sides. So while sitting on a physically heavy and solid looking chair he would be looking at one completely made out of wire and with a leaves-filled wired backrest.

We left for more museums /exhibits...

Here's one with a twist... and inspired none other than by Oliver Twist. =)

Pretty cool graphic shoes...

...or an entire roll of toilet paper typewritten with a whole poem.

And i wonder how they made this. It's movable some more! Incredibly detailed!
And finally... some last miscellaneous photos...

All in all, a memorable trip that happened to be financed totally by the department... so it doesn't get better than that...
