Fate...
Fate
The wind plays with a leaf,
The way fate plays with us.
We learn to love.
To give and take,
Only to have the floor
swept out from under our feet.
Sometime in our lives,
Fate rips what we love most
From our grasp.
And we are forced to watch
Because we cannot reason
With fate.
Nor can a leaf reason
With the wind
That rips it from
The trees branch.
It sweeps us around,
Causes a turmoil of emotions
We cannot fathom.
And at the end of our journey
We drown in death,
The way a leaf drowns
In water.
